Elizabeth Gilbert on the Creative Mystery

I just came across this Ted Talk on Beth Hemmila's blog.
It was just what I needed to hear........
so, I thought it would be good to share it with you all.

When I began blogging I was (an still am) fearful about sharing my thoughts.
What will I have to say or share that is so important, I would ask myself? Will I be able to say it thoughtfully and eloquently?
Sometimes with my work it is the same way. How do I let go of my fears that hold me hostage and open myself up to the creative flow of the universe?
After listening to Elizabeth, my new tactic is going to be to show up, unafraid, and do my part.....then let the glimpses of
wonder show themselves to me.

  1. thank you for reminding me of this, laura... i saw it on beth's post and then got so busy during the day that i forgot to go back to it... am going to watch now... so glad that you found inspiration! and, yes, you are quite eloquent!

  2. mary jane it is amazing, enjoy and let's talk about it sometime soon over coffee :)

  3. just finished watching it and - wow... that was incredibly profound and exactly what i needed...
thank you, laura so very very much...

  4. Excellent selection Laura. I show this to my design students each semester to inspire them! TED lectures are the best go to site for putting a new spin on things. I think I will pass on the Hollywood movie though - as you know - I have little patience for the glamorization of spiritual experiences. Will wait for the Rotten Tomato review! :-)

  5. A new TED talk, thanks Laura. Don't ever be afraid to say what you are thinking, it's just all part of life's experience.

  6. jaya, sherry and theresa, thanks for stopping in, i always appreciate your comments. ~L

  7. Laura, I just found this today. I waited all day to listen to it, but kept it opened on my computer so I would not forget. I listened to it just now and it stirred so much emotion in me. Thank you for sharing it. I think this will stay with me always.
